Hi everyone.

I am not sure whether this is the place for me but I would like to see if anyone has similar experiences or advice. I am not diagnosed with depression and have had no contact with any form of help, but I have felt low for quite a while and I feel as though it's not just being in a bad mood etc.
I often feel like I have underachieved in my life and that I could be doing better (hope that makes sense). I'm only young but I still feel I should be further along or more successful. I never have dark thoughts about hurting myself or anything like that, but, often at night, I have negative thoughts about my life and future. I feel like I lack any motivation, and struggle to reach the highs and happiness of previous years etc. I'm really just not happy too much anymore. I am confused because I have an amazing girlfriend, great family and a few close friends. My job is OK, although I don't love it or enjoy it overly. I don't know how much sense this makes, but if anyone has any advice for me I would appreciate it massively.

Thank you.

just wanted to welcome you to the forum
if your low mood persists i suggest you see your gp and see if you can get some support

does your gf know how you are feeling? maybe telling someone close would help ,but sometimes people find it easier to talk to strangers about how they feel
have you considered counselling? xx

I can totally understand you on this one. I always had that feeling of " satisfaction of never being satisfied ". It appeared I am doing nothing in my life and the fact tha tI could probably push myself further.
This coin has two sides.
One is depression and the other one is enthusiasm.
You just need to change the perspectives a little bit. When you feel down of underachieving, use that as a motivation and driving force to further chase your dreams.
I love bodybuilding and entrepreneurship. Luckily for me, the harder I work the more I succeed.
So whenever that feeling of underachieving strike me down, I work harder than before. Getting me close to my dreams.
You need to find something you love. And push it when you are down.
