Done a lot of things, mostly creative, but don't want strangers to know about me. The world is too dangerous.

Well they say this is the good thing about bipolar so let's hear it; what's your best creative side?
Does anyone find they seem a bit stuck on this, maybe because they havent done any music lessons, paint classes etc, do you feel a bit 'stuck' but know the creativity is there somewhere? x
I played rythm metal guitar for years. Then played 80's rock lead guitar, then slipped a disk in my back and had osteoporosis the same month. Can't play any more. And my other creativity is working with my plants.

All mental health people have extreme creativity that some might not have tapped into yet. When I was younger all my creativity was admired by others-as a older diagnosed adult I lost my talents to a hard life and now medications. Gosh I could only dream about getting my creativity back now. My youngest son has never seen his mom decorate or use her creative talents. It is Fall now and I use to make displays and arrangements for restaurants and at my home. Today all I have is dead fallen leaves to show who I am. Sad.

The best part of bipolar and a little mania.....particularly its effect on my creativity...is it has made me fearless about trying new creative ventures. Fearless in a sense that i'm not afraid to suck at whatever im making/doing. I'm very particular in many parts of my life and hold the quality of my work to a high standard. But part of getting older and working with the mania a bit is not caring how badly many works turn out. whether its sculpture, painting, writing, sewing, craftwork.....letting loose with your creativity is wonderfully liberating if you don't feel the need to hide it from peoples view when your finished! Often methods learned in one pursuit better you and inspire works in other forms of art. Note--I'm going through a bit of a creative explosion in my life at this time...and the bipolar definetly has effected it positively.

I've written poetry and fiction since I was a teenager. I have (what was once) a popular poetry account on Twitter, and I often receive very high praise for my writing, though my low sense of self-worth refuses to allow me to accept it. =(

I also enjoy painting, though I haven't been practicing it nearly as long. I really love geometric abstraction as a form of truthful self expression.

Hi y, all It is good to realise some good can come from our mental health complaints My good things are when suffering a bit of manic behaviour I am much more emphatic with everything Reading the newspaper I will get upset about a stranger's sad circumstances. also my mind is ultra sharp and I feel very energetic. COULD I add something here concerning Schoid people in my past experiences I knew a nurse who worked on the Psych ward She was convinced some of her patients had Psyhic powers way beyond the norm. :havingfun:
