I'm sure many of you can relate to absolutely dreading the idea of having to do the laundry. I usually let it build up so much that the process is even more time-consuming when I do get around to it. But lately I have been getting back into the awful habit of wetting and scrubbing my clothes with antibacterial soap and then spraying them with disenfectant while I am still wearing them so I am not adding to the massive load of other laundry I have piled up. It is uncomfortable and embarrassing (as I have to try and hide the wet patches when I go outside). I am often avoiding the outdoors just so I can dry my clothes. Has anyone else experienced this? I am really frustrated with myself and it is really exhausting.

When I lived on my own I wouldn't do laundry for weeks. I would just wear dirty clothes. It was super embarassing. I'm still embarrassed about it. The only time I would wash my clothes is if I was going to my mom's house because she made me bring the clothes to her house. I haven't told anyone else about this.

I have a disorder that includes OCD. I'm diagnosed as OCD.

Thanks for sharing. I have done the same but with that comes another embarrassing habit: not showering. It's crazy because I want things to be perfectly clean but the thought of all the effort it takes to clean clothes and myself is so daunting that I just avoid it. I have to use a communal laundry too which makes it awkward when someone shows up needing to use a machine and you've got four loads going. I certainly felt like a dickhead yesterday. I have been diagnosed with OCD, anxiety and depression.

I've always showered everyday. Even when I was deep deep deep in my depression I showered everyday. Maybe it take me until 5 PM to shower but I would shower. That's beside the point.

Communal laundry?!? That would be horrible. I couldn't do that. I didn't like to go to the laundry mat before.

Man, I wish I could shower every day. I hate showers. I always have to clean everything (surfaces, etc) before and after. Good on you for showering every day even when you were at your worst. Yeah, the communal laundry is pretty crap but it's just downstairs so I don't have to bring all my stuff in the car or go out to wash stuff. I still hate it though because I feel like things get contaminated on the way downstairs and when I go back to my room. Anyway, apologies for going on about it. I guess I just want to hear how others get on with laundry and if it's as distressing and time-consuming as I find it to be or worse. It helps to share.
