I was seeing a counselor for a little while and she diagnosed me with chronic PTSD and major depressive disorder. But I really have no idea what triggered the ptsd diagnosis. Are there certain things that you need to have?

Hiya. Do you know what the PTSD refers to? What incidents which caused it in the first place? As for triggers they can be anything small; a scent, a car backfiring, a sentence etc it can be so brief it is missed immediately and only realised once you go back wards like "chain analysis" to find the trigger.

Yes, I have had multiple traumas in my life which I figured played a part in my depression but I dont think I have had any reactions from triggers or anything. Although when I started seeing her I was losing time during the day. Like all of a sudden coming to and not knowing wh er re I was and had to use a GPS to get home. I wonder if that is a reaction?

I'm no expert on PTSD but it certainly sounds like you are having to deal with the traumas and that you are reacting to them now. Could it be that you are feeling well enough that your mind says that its time you sorted it out now? I am glad you have somewhere safe to explore this.

About that...my counselor lost her husband so was out all summer and now I just heard that she isn't coming back as t all. Which is why I'm kind of left hanging.

But on the other hand I actually feel like I'm getting worse...well, I know the depression is really hitting me and I have started losing time again but not while I'm driving so it's not as noticeable.
