Hi I wonder if someone can offer me some advice

My friend has just been transferred out of area to a PICU ward and hours drive away. The reason for the transfer is that she didn't want to be a hospital in our area (
For safeguarding issues) however there is another hospital in the area she could have gone but she was transferred out of area instead. She is very scared and begging me to bring her home.
I just wondered if anyone has been in this position before? Or knows if there is anything I can do
Thanks

I suppose they got the impression that she wanted to be far away. Or maybe they couldn't find a vacancy anywhere nearer. I think it's encouraging that they paid attention to her preference, even if they didn't get it quite right.

If she has only just been transferred there, I would give it a while to see how she settles in. Even though she's scared, she's not in actual danger, and hopefully she'll be less scared with every passing day.

I suppose the only thing you can do is to talk to the doctors and explain how your friend is feeling. Im sorry I cant help more.

Hope your friend improves soon.
