I’ve been reading and watching reviews about CBD oil. Most videos and articles has tons of reviews and comments. Each review and comment, almost, has a link for a company. It looks like an advertisement campaign to promote this stuff. On the other had, whoever posts anything against CBD oil or simply stating their own opinion and experience of it not working get attacked or ridiculed or told “ oh, you are not taking this brand or that”.

One guy even posted a video of himself using it for the first time and he was depressed because he lost a child. After an hour he was joking and up and ready to go out and get to business. I was like you gotta be kidding me.

Has anyone tried CBD oil? How did you find to be? Is it really working???

Hi Hopeful. Like your screen name. I tried CBD oil for chronic pain. I even doubled the dose recommended. No affect on the pain what so ever and it gave me a nasty head buzz. I don't know what it does for depression.

Full spectrum cannabis oil is said to be able to shrink cancer tumors. But the science hasn't been done and it's impossible to find out the dosage and rate. It's like an experiment with your cancer to try the stuff and then if it doesn't work, it's too late to go the surgical route.

It's definitely useful with kids/adults who have seizures.

I don't like traditional marijuana, but CBD really does soothe my anxiety.

Hi @Poopy Doll and thanks for replying.
I am sure it’s good for something but not for everything as these advertisers are preaching.
I am usually suspicious of anything that has a big hype. Marketing is manipulative and they know which strings to play. I think with the legalization of weed, everyone is jumping on board.
For me, I am not allowed to use weed or anything extracted from it. It’s prohibited by my faith(religion) but I am willing to try it if it’s going to really help with my anxiety and depression.

Thanks for your reply. I have some questions for ya hopefully you can answer.

On a serious note, how long did you use it for? What is the dosage that works for you? Can you think of any side effects that you witnessed?

Thanks again and I appreciate it.

CBD is a lot of hype with very little evidence. The strongest evidence of CBD's medical benefits is for treating epilepsy. I know I must sound like a broken record by now, the plural of Anecdote is not Evidence.

As you suggest in your initial post, it's the marketing of the drug that has made it seem like it's helping so many. Consider that @Poopy Doll 's anecdote gets zero support from marketing when you evaluate whether CBD is likely to be an effective treatment for anxiety in more people than not. Definitely read about the potential problems with CBD as well as hopeful the health claims.

I'm obviously skeptical but that doesn't mean I have no hope that there is medical use for Cannabidiol. I'm just concerned that we who are struggling with anxiety may be paying a lot of money for what amounts to a placebo.

Well I am unsure of my exact dosage. No side effects. I took a few hits from a pen and cartridge that I was able to obtain from a natural remedies shop. Literally just more calm vibes and an easier way to get to sleep. No "high" feeling.

I agree with you 100% and great reply.
It’s not about the financial cost more than taking advantage of desperate people and living off of their emotions and disadvantages.

I tried cbd oil for my major, serious depression.I think you can find my post where I answered to one member in detail about it.Here briefly., it was definitely effective, I have no doubt about it, but not effective enough.Kind of evidently effective but nothing great. For me it had some side effects.Sweating, eye sensitivity to light, some insomnia (I forgot to mention that in my other post), irritability (not sure if from oil or from not enough effect) at a dose of about 2x5 drops of 4% concentration. In fact rather could't take more because of those side effects, though as I noticed the more you take the more effective it is.So overall nothing great for me and it was expensive so it made no much sense for me to continue. But I'm sure it was working.
I tried just several brands, for me the most effective brand was cibdol Switzerland.Seem to be some difference what brand is used for depression, but I don't know if it is much of a difference.

with CBD you need to understand dosage, delivery mechanism and verify the manufacturer is decent.

OK on dosage... Product labeling is not consistent. Some will give you mg of "hemp extract" which is not the same as milligrams of CBD - some PORTION of hemp extract is CBD. Look for a brand which specifies milligrams of CBD. This again may come in different forms. So most often it will have a label like 750 milligrams...careful...this is in the entire BOTTLE, it may also indicate how many milligrams per milliliter. So Lazarus for example, 750 mg @ 15ml = 50mg of CBD/milliliter (ml). Hempbombs 2000mg vape CBD liquid @ 60ml = 33mg/ml. Get it?

So now onto delivery mechanism. Vape has high absorption, some say north of 50%...but here's the thing...your average vape pen tank holds 1ml. So in using hempboms eliquid 2000, that is 33mg of CBD in the tank when full. When I was using it, like 5-6 draws on the pen at a time, using it 4-5 times per day, the tank was lasting almost 5 days. So that's 33mg over several days. Not so much. You feel it pretty immediately, but it wears off quickly. You'd have to constantly vape for like an hour+ to use the entire tank. Taste was good and all, but light on dosage.

Swallowing capsules is the least effective, too much gets broken down...you absorb some studies say 10%.

So best I think from using is tincture/oil under the tongue, you do eventually swallow it, but let it sit in the mouth as long as you can and don't drink anything immediately after. Tinctures typically come with a dropper which show .25 ml, .5ml, .75ml and 1ml. I take 1ml at bedtime, but I do it over 15 minutes dividing it in half because it's just too much in the mouth to hold it for me with the full dose at once. Absorption through membrane is supposed to be about 40%, then you get another 10% of residual that you swallow.

I find 50mg is needed. But I know we have cannabinoid recptor issues genetically. If you have 23andme data this is the CNR1 gene.

Interestingly, the CNR1 gene co-regulates CRH receptors...stress hormone receptors.

Definitely give it a shot. Vape is good to have in your pocket for high stress situations to "top up" a dose.

Benefits of CBD:

It slows the FAAH enzyme which makes Anandamide (bliss molecule) more available.
It is a negative allosteric modulator of the CB1 (cannabinoid) receptor.
It is an agonist of the 5HT1A receptor...acts similarly to Buspar.

It is a natural substance, so no time release! You will need to dose 3-4x per day. Outta bed, lunch, late afternoon/dinner and bedtime.

On cost, calculate the mg/ml. A lower dosage "looks" cheaper but you have to use more volume to get same dosage....

Lazarus naturals has a isolate (CBD only) and a full spectrum CBD which does have some THC, test files show like 25:1, CBD:THC.

Charlotte's web has very very low THC like .003%, almost all CBD.

HempLucid Nano CBD made me sick, GI pain. No problems with others mentioned.

People like Endoca also in UK.

Most people who I think don't get a benefit, either are not dosing enough, and understand the frequency of dosing. Good luck. ZERO SIDE EFFECTS. None. Really good for pain also.

It’s not a miracle cure. Some effect might be placebo; “I think this will make me calm” and it works because that person believes it’ll help them.

I think it has some actual anti-anxiety effect also but I agree you wouldn’t go from grieving to fine lol.

I used it for a few weeks or so in the past and I didn’t notice a whole lot of change with it. It tasted good haha. It might have helped a little but I don’t really know.

i wonder about the internet and how some people may be paid to advertise products on line, i've been in my time attacked by what i suspect are party activists for attacking the party line

your selling the product you do think the product is wonderful you go on line and say so neglecting to mention your a salesman

i have tried cbd oil does it help maybe as a placebo, ordinary cannabis helps with anxiety in the short term though in the long term theres evidence it can trigger psychosis

Right, I’m unsure about how it would work since it doesn’t have THC in it. I know THC would work, scientifically shown. The paranoia part makes sense though.

It’s almost like someone was like hey look now you can have weed...without the weed!

i might take some for this group i'm going to, but it's expensive if you use it a lot, so have to leave for strict emergencys like the way i feel today, my experience is most drugs lose effect if taken regularly

Can I ask how you take it?

I keep reading about the benefits of CBD oil but I don't know what you're supposed to do with it?
