Can you be forced to take medication for schizophrenia in the UK, I've been on medication for five years and nothing has touched me.
I'm better off without it.

There is a such a thing as a community treatment order. This is where they force you to take medication.

If they section you, you will be forced to take medication.

Some people with psychosis are not forced to take medication if they can cope well with their symptoms and are not a danger to themselves or to other people and if they don't require care when they are not taking medication.

I have read some of your other posts Rebeca1. Do you have psychosis at the moment?

I still hear voices. I've been on medication for five years and none of it has worked, I'm really fed up with taking it , I've just had an injection and got a bad itchy lump.
I'm hoping they don't force me I'm sick of the side effects and see it as control.
The female space ghost in my body that owns the earth who crushes human ghost embryos to death up in the ozone or spirit mist still keeps passing through my head as to kill my spirit I won't last long.
I might as well spend my last days drug free as the medication makes me thick.

Listen to your psychiatrist, they're clever people. He maybe pointing something out to you.

Mind you, you seem smart yourself.

You can't be forced to take medication unless you are sectioned.

Even on a CTO you can refuse it.

I refused when under a section and six of them held me down in the Hospital to give me a Depot injection. Also, they visited me at home to see my taking my tablets. I've been on a CTO too. I managed at the hearing to have it removed after a year or so. If you come off medication and become unwell they will section you and force you to take medication.

While I was sectioned, I was forced to take the depot (injection) of an anti-psychotic called Paliperidone.

Although they didn't hold me down or anything, they said if I didn't take the injection I'd remain longer under section.

To this day, Iv stopped taking the depot (4-5 months) & I'm doing relatively OK.

Hope this helps!
