Can trauma make you weak emotionally?

After some very traumatic experiences, is it normal to cry at stuff that is sad/ slightly sad? I dunno if i'm explaning properly.

I think you made it pretty clear and yes I think after going through something that is very traumatic I have found it that many things I come across I tear up and even break down at.

Maybe so. Trauma can do a lot of different things. I dunno if "weak" is the right word for any emotion. One thing common enough to people with trauma is that they may have difficulty managing their emotions. Sometimes they can be overwhelmed by whatever it is going on, sadness or anger or ... you know, lots of things.

I would call it "sensitive" rather than "weak". I see it as being like an animal that normally has a shell, like a tortoise or turtle, but the trauma has damaged or destroyed that protective shell and now you're vulnerable to more hurt.
