Im experiencing a very hard to explain feeling in my left arm. Feels heavy, shaky, clumsy and my fingers tingle especially when I wake up in the morning. I know some of you mentioned the same but I am so anxious that I will wake up one day and won’t be able to move my arms. Is this all anxiety :’( I am so tired of feeling so anxious and scared and waiting for my neurologist appointment makes me even more anxious than the symptom itself :( Anxiety sucks!

Hi guys!

Hi, I am 29 and fighting with weird symptoms, 2 months ago i experienced panick attack.
next day i noticed that my left leg and arm feel bit weird, like weak, tingling or warm, its difficult to discribe, on and off and than I would get very achy muscles, like i did a work out for that one muscle and than chest pain fallowed. so next day i went to ER, thinking there is something with my heart or i have mini stroke. Doctor run quick ECG, checked my temperature and did a physical test on my arm and leg. he told me it was anxiety, nothing more. Since than I experienced chest pain(thinking heart problems), IBS (thinking is colon cancer), stomach palpitations (thinking is abdominal aortic aneurysm)
I had a 3 EKG since than, had complete blood work, a stress test(on treadmill). Everything come back good (apart from my vitamin d, its very low) I went to my doctor at least 4 times, I also went to ER twice in past two months. every doctor told me it is a panic attack or anxiety. I noticed that I freak out alot wiyh all the symtoms I had and I also worry alot. Now I got new one! my left side got bit worse last saturday, since than i feel weak and get dizzy spells for like 3 hours mid day every day. So I went to my doctor again and explained the whole thing and he is refering me for a TIA Assessment (mini stroke) I am so freaked out, I just want my life back, feel so miserable. Is there anyone with such symptoms?
Me. When I get this feeling, my arm or leg feels funny to use. Do you feel the same?

Hello,

I am new to this and after reading some of these threads I have realized all the things I have been feeling could be linked to my anxiety. However, I would never accept that as an answer.

It all started in October when I suffered a hemiplegic migraine after coming off the birth control pill which caused one side of my body to go numb. I went to the hospital and they said it was a migraine and they gave me some sumatriptan. A few days later the same thing happened, I felt as if I was going to pass out so I went to the hospital again and then they said it was again a migraine and I should contact my GP. I got in contact with my GP who called me in for a physical assessment, at this stage there was no headache however the right side of my body had intense pins and needles. The doctor seemed quite confused and said can you go and wait outside, I went outside he called me back in and said you should take yourself to the hospital as I am concerned about the tingling with no headache.

PANIC MODE now kicks in and I think I am having a stroke or suffering from some other neurological disorder. My dad also had a stroke so I kept thinking the same thing was going to happen to me. Went to the hospital and they said you are not having a stroke this is anxiety so off I went. Moving on from this the tingling was still there constantly on my right side and I was waiting for my referral. This was going to take up to 3 months, therefore I paid to speak to a neurologist online and I told them all what had gone on about coming off the birth control and he said you need to go back to hospital to have and have a CT scan as they cannot be sure its not a blood clot. PANIC MODE sits in again and this constant tingling has been there nearly all day every day. Went to the hospital after speaking to various doctors and refusing to leave, they eventually done the CT scan and everything comes back as clear.

They then fast-tracked me onto a neurologist where he said he believed I was suffering from anxiety and migraines. They prescribed me sumatriptan and propanolol and I was to increase the dosage in stages. 4 weeks had passed, tingling altering from the arm, to leg and so on but always there. Went to the GP again and they then took some blood and checked everything and said it was fine. In February my nan got diagnosed with having brain aneurisms and then I started to believe that they might have missed something when doing my scans so I paid to have an MRI and again everything comes back as clear. I also went to see an endocrinologist regarding my hormones and coming off the pill, they said that everything was fine however I still seem to have a strange sensation on my right side of my body. However, they did make me hold my hands out and I have a slight tremor in my right hand and now I'm convinced I am developing Parkinsons.

It is not as intense as it was when this all happened however it is still there and it is noticeable. I have been put on a CBT course that although it was helpful the sensations are still there. I tried Citroplam for a week which made me feel worse, although the doctors did say it would get worse before it gets better. I am just getting annoyed now as I have never been like this and now all of a sudden I am convincing myself I have every neurological disease going and that I am going to die. I am only 28 and I am just praying that this does pass.

I am glad however I have seen this post as it's interesting to see that people are having similar symptoms. My biggest concern was that when you look online anxiety is supposed to last for 30 minutes. Mine seems to be there all the time if I am not occupied. I still can't believe we experience this all from our thoughts.

I definitely didn’t have anxiety symptoms that lasted twenty minutes, mine went on all day for months so you’re not alone. When anxiety is that high you will convince yourself that every single sign, symptom and difference in your symptoms to others is a sign that it’s something more. I was convinced I had a degenerative neurological condition also but I didn’t it was all health anxiety and once I finally found the ways to calm my mind and nervous system down the physical symptoms dissipated. Hang in there and take care x
