got an appt with britsh gas they could come at 8 so i've phoned them to ask for later, got through then was put in this queue after 30 mins with adverts for british gas and music gave up.

I think they now answer the call assess you as to whether your in a position to complain then if not put you in a queue

Maybe off topic but theres a lot of discrimination against poor people nowadays, whether thats mental health or disability discrimination though those groups are over represented among the poor

Yes but I'm not sure it's discrimination against the poor Rambo (although of course it exists)- more like all major service providers, now they've been privatised, are so focused on making a profit they've cut staff to the bone, minimised the possibility of consumers actually speaking to a human being (coz that can cause costly problems) but if you do, it will be someone on the other side of the world who cannot understand your problem (and you probably won't be able to understand them) and basically they've digitised all their systems coz it's cheaper and don't give a damn any more about the quality of their service. The public service service sector is no better because of all the cuts they've had to implement. I notified my council that I had moved in to my new address and needed to take over paying for the council tax three and a half months ago - haven't heard a dickie bird from them since. Every time I try to phone them, after getting through all those multiple choice thingies, I get put on hold and two minutes later the phone goes dead. I emailed them ( they promise to respond within 5 days) two weeks ago but nope, nothing. In the meantime I've accrued £700 of debt. Makes me sick.
