My entire life I knew something was mentally wrong with me. I always kept my depressed and suicidal thoughts to myself. Three years ago I was diagnosed with BPD
I haven't been taking it well because I don't want anything negative to define me. This year I have been very low cutting of friends, family and also my long time on and off again girlfriend who was the only one there for me threw my lows. I recently was fired from my job for threatening a co worker .I don't know how to finish the year off alone with my thoughts.

Have you got some support from a mental health team or a CPN?

BPD is treatable with therapy but can be difficult to access on the NHS. Both DBT and MBT are the preferred therapies for those with a BPD diagnosis.

Are there any mental health support groups or charities you can access locally.

I'm sorry to hear about you being fired, same thing happened to me during a period of depression although it was many years back now.

One of the things that is helpful about these boards is that you can be reminded that you are not alone and there is encouragement and support here. At the time of your diagnosis, what recommendations were given to you? How would you feel about following up on any of those recommendations now?

I'm supposed to go to therapy but all the therapist I get recommended too.I do not like and I can't talk to random people who judge me.

Do you have to use the therapists that are recommended because of insurance, or can you choose one on your own?
