Schizophrenia is basically a 'Psychosis'

It is thougth that when a psychosis occurs;

pathways in the mind crossover such that a person might see or hear their own thoughts in the form of hallucinations and voices

Borderline Personality Disorder can also involve a psychosis, but a person can suffer dissociation - where they lose reality - thay can also self harm.

As I understand it, BPD can be a result of a lack of love Or even an abusive childhood

Twylight is right when it envolves psychosis and sometimes a traumatic childhood but not always. Schziophrenia can get worse over a short period of time, so can bpd but its the relationship of the past and the present.

Its hard for me to explain the differences because its hard for me to come to terms about what bpd means, all i know is that its a life long thing, yet with schzophrenia it can also be the same.

A person with a personality disorder might have a mood disorder as well as schziophrenia or any other mental health problems.

i think ..

Umm was wondering this myself? I am sure my mum has some sort of mh problem? She is loud,embarrasing, repeats herself! Very high in moods and then very low no middle!

Shes nearly 50 and wouldn't think twice about stripping in public lol.. If she was egged on like..

She has had breakdowns and my brother was sectioned for phycosis and she didn't cope well didn't sleep for almost 2 wks fainting and laying in bed not dealing with anything! Even the staff at the hospital noticed her behavior lol when we were visiting my brother lol

Would love to know what wrong with my mum i love her dearly but do worry :unsure:

Schizophrenia can be measured with a CAT scan. It's a brain disorder as opposed to a personality disorder such as Borderline...ALTHOUGH recent reseach has shown that borderline is to be seen in such scans as well. It's all always open to debate.

n.b. Childhood abuse & neglect alters the brain...permanently. I sometimes think we know more than the specialists do.

Big news....(not)

They now think I'm a semi-rapid cycling Bi-Polar as well.
I've got an intensive psychiatric onderzoek...what's the word...evaluation on monday next. Wishing me luck won't help. I am who I am.

Do they medicate us for us, or for the outside world??? (pondering)
