uhhh hello? i don't really know how to use this site,,, i didn't know where to go and i found this...
anyways onto the issue, so i have a blood test soon, either this week or next I'm not really sure... it's to check meds and stuff idk... but here's the problem, I'm supposed to be taking zyprexa / olanzapine but I've stopped taking it without telling anyone.. i stopped because of the weight gain side effect causing me serious body image issues.. i tried to tell my mother and psychiatrist that i didn't want to keep taking this med but they didn't want me to, so i wasn't able to get off of it, they only lowered the dose to 25mg.. some time later that didn't make anything better so i just stopped taking it secretly.. anyways again i have a blood test coming up and it's not safe for me to be found out to not have been taking the med.. so here's what i need to know, how does it show up in the tests? I'm considering just taking a pill that morning.. so how long would one pill stay in my system? or how long would it take to show up in my system? would it be safe to take one before the test, or would it even show up? if that won't work, does it have to be taken continuously to show up? if so for how long would it take for it to start showing up, like how many days or something, or maybe doses, idk???
sorry,,, I'm not in a good situation right now and i really need to know how i can pass as taking the med normally..

Are you sure they are checking your blood for the presence/ concentration of Zyprexa rather than for other reasons eg. high blood sugar/ cholesterol etc?

I don't think they check for the meds in your system. Just things like cholesterol etc.
I could be wrong though.
Good Luck.

Did you get any symptoms when you stopped the drug?

well they're checking to see how my meds are doing, and if they're having any effects on my body or health or something idk.. but since I'm on 7 medications they would also check for interactions between them, so well i thought that that might include checking levels...

i don't think it's for cholesterol, but idk... i get called in maybe every 2 months or so so they can check how my meds are doing.. since I'm on 7 of them they would probably check for interactions and that might include levels of them but I'm not sure....

As most oral drugs are detectable for at least a couple days in your urine, I would say that a blood test is also going to be in that range. Although I don't advocate fooling a drug test;) I would take one for 2 days before your anticipated test to be as safe as possible.

ask at your next appt what they are testing for and/ or ask for a print out of the results.

it would be too late at that point.. the appointment is in a few days, and if i asked when i got there, i would still have to be tested that day.. so if they were testing for something that would also include that it would be too late and the med still wouldn't be in my system..

Blood test

I'm fairly certain they are testing for the Zyprexa levels but just cholesterol and diabetes risk.
