Hiya

I am on Mirtazepine which is an anti depressant and a sedation all rolled into one. Venlafaxine takes a while to work, but its a good anti depressant. But what suits one won't necessarily suit all so its finding the right cocktail of meds that suit you.

Have you ever thought about long term therapy for the sleeplessness? I know that in the short term, you just want to sleep. Has your doc suggested any thing to you?

Have you tried trazodone?
Or Rozerem. Both of these are drugs in the hypnotics category, used to treat insomnia. Trazodone has some antidepressant properties.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that's also used as a sleep aid.

For how long have you been taking Venlafaxine?
