There are many out there. For me, mood stabilizers stood a much better chance at helping than anti depressants. But I did have to go through many many anti depressants before they realised they didnt help and finally tried mood stabilizers.

Sertraline seemed to be the only anti depressant that did help for a short time.

See I've discussed mood stabilizers but they always say no straight away I've been on sertraline but it made me very suicidal and kinda of embarrassing side effect which is best left unmentioned lol

They might just want to try anti depressants first. It took years for them to look into mood stabilizers for me.
Even then they could have went for them because nothing else worked.
I wanted to go back on the mood stabilizers but docs wont let me without a psychiatrist.

It's funny you say that about sertraline because it was mirtazapine that made me more mentally unwell. Just shows what works for one might be awful for another.

Your dosage on the mirtazapine may just need tweaked. It seems to be a good med for those it works for.

My issue is with antidepressants they seem to work for a while then stop working sadly and that's the case at the moment with mirtzapine and 45mg would make me feel heavily sedated

Quetiapine has really helped me too - you start off feeling a bit tired, but when you are super anxious, it is nice to have it calm you down.

Cymbalta is the antidepressant I have been on for the past 5 years and it really helps me too.
