I've recently started anti psycotics for first time in 2 years as I didn't want to take them at first. It became too much to bare and I started seroquel 8 weeks ago for sleep and then went up as it was clearing my symptoms. I'm still going up doses and have yet to become stable. Was just wondering if anyone got more anxious as they came out of psycosis? I've become used to a "not real" feeling and think as I'm losing this I'm becoming more anxious. I know anti psychs are supposed to help anxiety but haven't got much relief from stress yet, does it take a while ?

Hiya,

Some antipsychotics can make you more anxious, I don't know anything about seroquel but it might be worth speaking to your doctor and trying something else.

I had to take aripiprazole for a while to try and bring down my hormone levels and it was like taking an anxiety pill, not nice!

I don't think they're meant to make you anxious or agitated so definitely worth trying something different.

I'm worried about this as I hate changing meds and withdrawal and shit. I'm gonna ride it out and hope it's just not not me yet
