I need any advice on those two medicines... because lately I’ve been so depressed that I simply lay in bed all day and don’t feel like doing anything, my will power us just taken away -:(
Any suggestions on changing Trintellix? I’ve been taking it for 4/5 weeks and I want to change to something else because it doesn’t do any antidepressant Work! My dr wants to see for 2 more weeks... I can’t stand it

Hi,

Always seek the advice of your doctor, psychiatrist or other qualified health professional before making any changes to your medications or with any questions you may have regarding drugs/medications. In considering coming off psychiatric drugs it is very important that you are aware that most psychiatric drugs can cause withdrawal reactions, sometimes including life-threatening emotional and physical withdrawal problems. In short, it is not only dangerous to start taking psychiatric drugs, it can also be dangerous to stop them. Withdrawal from psychiatric drugs should only be done carefully under experienced clinical supervision.

Might you relapse? I would prefer to be tired than unwell.
Don’t know yet, but being a dead living thing is worse also... maybe I can practice managing the “devils “

Thanks for your kind words... I can’t agree with you more on than. Because I saw a guy who’s off medication has seriosly couldn’t control himself and then got hospitalized.

thanks for your kind advice! I appreciate! Yea I’ve seen a guy who ended up in hospital due to medication inadherence. But the thing is that if you can’t function well in daily life, that won’t help you recover either. You got to try and learn to live with the illness with low dosage so that you get the hang of it. I’ll bring it up with my dr at my next appointment. Wish me luck!

When is your next appointment?

Schizophrenia is not the kind of illness you should be risking a relapse for though. You can lose so many years of your life and risk being unwell permanently. I have seen people who never get better. One man i remember was about 40 and was going to long term care as he was not getting better. It is an illness to be respecte.

I understand equally, your suffering. It would be better to get a med review. Maybe there is an alternative option?

I'm sorry, it isn't fair is it, i hope the appointment soon gives you some hope for an easier life. I have just started taking evening primrose oil in the hope it will help me keep awake more this time of year. I definitely recommend a walk in the daylight as early as you can.

Definitely not fair, the trial and error can take a couple years from other friends’ experiences until you find a right mix. yea I took a walk today and hope tomorrow I’ll keep doing it! Oh that’s the first time I hear about evening primrose oil, if that can help sleep, that’d be great! Please share with us how that goes-:)

@Stormycat, I can relate to the feeling of being like the living dead when you wake up, I'm prescribed 4.5 mg of Haloperidol and have been on a couple of other meds in the last 20 years and it takes 2 - 3 hours of sitting around drinking coffee and tea and smoking cigarettes to feel like I'm properly awake.

Thanks for your sharing, I heard caffeine interferes with the efficacy of antipsychotic medicine. But seriously I’m so tempted to drink sometimes, but dare not...We need to change by creating a toolbox that May include yoga, walking, meditation, art therapy or new hobbies so that we can come off medication or take a lower dosage.
