Hi I suffer GAD and a phobia. I manage with deep breathing, mindfulness and meditation. It is hard as you have to do mindfulness everyday. Have you spoken to anyone about this. I also see a therapist twice a week.

I do mindfulness too! I’m glad you are seeing someone to help manage it. I’m also seeing a therapist twice a week. Are you on any medication or anything for it ?

Yes been on 2mg diazepam for years which does help me. I also take it because I have ventricular ectopics and vestibular problems so the more anxious I am the worse my symptoms. It is like a vicious cycle but I am sort of managing. Some days are better than others. If I have a good day brilliant if not tomorrow is another day. The therapy does help but it is hard going. I also take magnesium. Have you had your anaemia checked as that can make you worse.

Mindfulness helps me to manage anxiety in alot of ways. The core awareness practice I use is watching my thoughts rather than getting overly involved in them.

I've also learned that calming my body in turn calms my mind, and the reverse is true too.

I still have the rare acute anxiety or panic episode where meditation just isn't possible for me. In such instances I will use distress tolerance techniques.

For general, chronic, daily anxiety... Its quite difficult; When our mind is locked in a perspective - at which we cant see a way out - how do we cope? How do we function. Ive tried alot of things, especially during my meditation days. But it was interrupted by a serious life dilemma, in which i changed alot; and adapted... How do we flip-it around.
We have to get centered. This is quite unusual place to get. progress through day, but its good. I for one now also have adhd, so i have to ride my thoughts out, or they destroy me, through stomach pain. Nature is physically woven within us. We can use that! What is the nature of your being? Heres a quote for your journaling.
Recognize the nature of our being.... ..... Before it is "qualified", "quantified" by experience...
The self knows its self before any other thing.
INWARD: the realization of self in the absence of thought...
Awareness itself cannot choose a description. Every thought is directed into absence as you begin to analyze it.

Overall, when anxiety occurs, i sometimes find it helpful to distract the mind - which at first seems slow, but slowly it starts working. Then you reach better plateaus where it either doesnt happen, or happens in fainter regards.
