Anxiety is making me want to hide.

Ok this is going to be stupid. The other day I saw the door to my attic was open when it shouldn't be. I honestly froze in place felt my heart stop for a second out of fear. There was nothing there the door is shut and sealed but last night I couldn't sleep. Any little noise made me sit straight up in bed flashing my light everywhere even checking the attic door most of the night. All night I was panicking just going to the bathroom I even stopped at the too of my stairs and looked up to that door watching it waiting for something to try and move it. I cried so much last night I'm even crying now just writing this. I live on my own with two kids I haven't got someone here in the worse case scenario and it's really screaing me so much I can't sleep.

sounds like u are watching too many of those supernatural horror movies like the conjuring, the nun, annabelle, insidious, etc...

they are all the same lol. haunted house movies. kinda boring beacuse they are unrealistic and the whole movie is inside a house

maybe you can rig something up so if the attic door is opened something will fall out and make a loud sound. that way you dont have to check it always. you will hear it. or setup a bluetooth camera on your phone. so u can see the door from your phone. but the blue light from phones keeps the brain awake. so u have to turn on a night mode, or reduce blue light mode on your phone.

or motion detection alarm. it goes off really loud then u have to put in a password to make it shut off. u can put them in your house for intruders. they are portable and like 60$ on amazon

my roomate had one in his room and it went off and he wasnt home and we had to put it in the fridge it was so loud lol

It's not stupid to feel afraid. Your mind can play tricks on you. Maybe it was the wind knocked it open we have had storms here.

Yeah that's what I think too cause we did have strong winds it's just seeing it open like that and not connecting the dots straight away just made my mind go into overdrive

i had one of these once. u just enable it then point it at the area u want to secure. anything moves in that area it makes a loud alarm. then u just punch in the 4 digit code and it stops.

Listen to me my love, its normal. I rolled a blanket up before and layed it at the bottom of my front door to prevent a draft, 3 seconds later (because i live in a bad area) i thought, wat if someone puts something on fire through my letter box, and my house goes up in flames, i rang both of my sisters and they both admitted they have the same silly thoughts. Its ok we are all the same xxx

u can buy those on amazon, or walmart, maybe other stores like home hardware stores

u can face it into your living room at night or something. for home intruders. or whatever.
