My anxiety is pretty high right now. Very disturbing. Seeing a psychiatrist for GAD in about a week. Will exercise later, that usually helps. I take it you also struggle with anxiety?

My anxiety has been high recently; but low today. Hopefully just an episode I can move on from.

I have suffered with GAD for many, many years.
Sometimes it’s hardly noticeable and other times
it’s debilitating.

I do, too. I can remember it ever since the first grade. My parents never figured out something was wrong until my mom read my journal when I was 16 lol

When I go through a severe depression(about every 10 years) I get horrible anxiety. It subsides once my antidepressant takes hold.

I suffer GAD and phobia. So debilitating that I have missed out on so much on life not doing what I would like to due to this disorder

Social anxiety here. It's usually at a moderate level but can get really bad at times and alternatively I can get a reprieve from it completely when my mood enters hypo/mania (Bipolar) which is probably one of the only things I like about it.

I often wonder what would happen if you got a whole bunch of people together that all had social anxiety. Do you think it would settle everyone knowing everyone else is the same, or do you think the problem would still persist just as hard?

I think it would be a good idea as then we would all be in the same boat and can talk freely about our feelings and the states we get in

I have the double whammy, Depression and Anxiety. I take Sertraline on a daily basis, which helps control the Depression-but anxiety is very difficult. On top of it, I have a high stress job which keeps me forever 'geeked up' and thinking something bad is always right around the corner. My job is custom made to promote anxiety-and the problems brought on by this pandemic have made it much more so.

I'm going to restart weekly therapy this coming week, if my therapist is available. I stopped for about 3-4 months to take a break. He used to work for the same company that I do, before he was terminated and became a full time therapist-he understands the tension and anxiety of this industry. That helps a lot. My teams lost a couple of the younger members to undisclosed illnesses and they'll be off for a few weeks, I suspect it's stress and overwork related. When folks start dropping by the wayside like that the leadership may recognize they've pushed too hard under the circumstances. Business as usual isn't possible during a global pandemic.

Perfect for bringing our fundamental issues to the surface, yes.

I've survived in this industry for going on 44 years, but there were times over the decades when it got to me. I had a couple of breakdowns that only myself and my wife know about, I kept it from the company as best I could.

I only reference this for the sake of others who are struggling with work-related anxiety. I've suffered from depression/anxiety all my life and the job has contributed to that. I'm nothing special, I have no deep reserves of strength or fortitude. If I can hang in there with will power and by using coping skills, therapy and medication to get me over the 'hurdles' along the way-for 44 years-then others can feel they also can manage anxiety-promoting work conditions.

I truly believe if I can do it, nearly anybody can. We can control our issues, we needn't let them control us. And through this forum we can boost each other up and share success stories-as well as concerns. We're all in it together.
