Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced high blood pressure caused from anxiety? I used to take xanex as needed but my bp kept getting really bad. Like hypertension stage 3. When I took xanex it brought it down. My Dr said I should start taking a daily antidepressant which I didn't want but I have started one. I'm also on bp meds. I have gotten my bp under control but recently switched antidepressants and my bp is back on the rise again. I've had tests done, heart is fine, blood work is good. Anyone have this similar issue? Thanks.

Hi @Frustratedsusan ,

I am so sorry that you are suffering from anxiety and high blood pressure. I did have high blood pressure before but not related to my anxiety. I started taking melatonin to help me sleep not knowing that it regulates blood pressure. After being on it for 7 weeks, my blood pressure was completely normal.

I suggest that you ask your doctor about melatonin. It’s an over the counter remedy and also a natural hormone that brain produces at night time to help us relax and fall asleep.

I hope you feel better soon.
