I was wondering if anyone taking a anti psychotic and or a antidepressant, notice that it can control there BP 2 hypo mania alone? Has anyone needed Lamictal as well to have mostly complete control of it? (Not sure if that is for depression or mania) I'm on a low-ish dose of Seroquel (350mg) but want to bump up to a higher dose. From what I read 600-800mg can control BP2 hypomania. Anything that has helped you, would be great since I want to bring it up to my new psych doctor.thanks

I'm taking Seroquel 600mg with 900mg Lithium. This combination does its job but I do have mild hypomanias and now depression again. But no more crazy mixed episodes that's good. I am type l and a tricky one.

I've also tried Lamictal, antidepressants and Aripiprazol (another psychotic). My current combination works the best for me between the episodes. Lithium toxicacy happens when I get really low and stop eating and drinking. So I've been off Lithium whenever in hospital. Lamictal was so good for depression but I couldn't handle the side-effects.

I don't know if this was any helpful but just thought of sharing my experience. I think it's very individual what combination works for you so you can't really tell before you've tried. It's very common with this illness that you have to go through many different meds before finding the balance.

Actually, that does help a lot. Was hoping that I could relate to someone on similar meds. Hope you pull out of the depression with a med adjustment or something. Thank you.

I take 250mgs of lamictal x2 a day. And an antidepressant. I did take risperdone when quite unstable which worked well. Quetiapine does help as an antidepressant and with more d stabilising effects
