Anyone who disagrees with their diagnosis such as schizophrenia or bipolar will be seen as suffering from Anosognosia. Meaning they have poor insight and judgment.

Patients views about the reasons why they have experienced what they have is dismissed by psychiatrists . Be it rape abuse or a spiritual experience. It reaffirms to the psychiatrists that the patient without doubt has schizophrenia. They talk about it being the right hemisphere of the brain disagreeing with the doctors.

I'm not sure how a bipolar patient can possibly have anosognosia. After all, the subjective experience of mania and depression is very real, unlike the subjective experience of psychosis which can be quite deceptive.
