Hi, I’m new to the forum and feel like I’m not quite functioning properly at the moment, I have become very emotional at almost everything I see or here, I can’t sleep at night, I am apparently no longer eating properly (according to my staff) and on reflection eating doesn’t seem that important, normally a happy cheerful person but find myself becoming very insular and no longer wish to go out or be with other people, i believe I may have become depressed and was looking for opinions, I am a very open and honest person and would appreciate any input from more experienced members, if opinion suggests I may be depressed I will immediately seek medical help

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum :welcome:
Lack of sleep can really affect your mental health.
I know this from experience myself.
Do you know why you are not sleeping?
Talking really helps.
Hugs

Hi fox, I’ve never been a great sleeper, I’ve always functioned well and had a pretty good life socially and business wise, so I don’t understand what’s happening to me now

Depression can creep up on anyone. It doesn't care that you have a good life!
I have no reason to be depressed but am. It sucks!
Please make an appointment with the doctor to get assessed.
You need support around you. You cannot beat this alone.

I have been offered an appointment with a councillor through a close friend( which I thought was quite rude at the time) I now believe she may have noticed something that I may have been denying for a while now

Counselling really can help. It's not always about medication!
I'm logging off now.

It may be depression. But you need to see a professional to know for sure. I hope you can get some good sleep soon. :welcome: to the forum.
