yeah, I think I'd agree with the first artlcle as well. There's a place for meds for a short time when people are in acute / extreme crisis, but then should be tapered off as soon as reasonably possible and other treatments available.

Now anti-depressants are being handed out by GPs like candies, same for antibiotics (which in turn is creating resistance to them, that's how zombie/virus will start)... Pharmaceutical companies make billions, instead of researching the cures for cancer, dementia, etc - they spend 95% of their R&D budget for the next viagra.

YES!!
My previous GP said to me that they haven't invested in research for meds in mental health since the 40's because it isn't seen as a high priority, regardless of the fact that they weren't always viable as a long term solution. My current GP is pretty good-he prefers using other methods, and only using meds as a last resort. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it worked better for me.

I like that. ^

I relate with the metaphysical cause of cancer being resentment. How supressed emotions can lead to physical 'abnormalities'.
Yes, you're right, it is not in pharmaceutical companies' interest to find cures; they are interested in money.
I like the ayurvedic approach where the whole person is treated, mind, body and soul.
