Once again, here I am. Fluttering sensation fleetingly passing in my chest, that sends my anxiety spiralling upwards through the roof.

Need to let go of this anxiety and move past it. Been 5 weeks now, everyday, worried about heart problems. Before that it was throat cancer, before that it was kidney failure.

Absolutely blowing my mind...not in a good way D:

Had the same for many years and at times the only relief I had was when distraction took place, but as soon as it passed the Thuds or flutters began.

ive had everything (in my mind) from MSMND,Cancer, Brain Tumours and do on and so forth ... I spent sooooo long thinking I was dying that I totally forgot to live.

I can’t say I’ve stopped 100% but it’s gone from alllll day every day to maybe an hour a week and I can only put that down to not googling and not feeding what is actually Anxiety

I hope you find how to work on your anxiety and not worry about what it’s making you feel are other issues..... trust me they are not 🙏

Dc86uk let me start by saying that I completely relate to your feelings and symptoms....
I too suffer bad with hypochondria (health anxiety) especially focused on issues with my heart.
over my time of suffering I have suffered with every symptom you can imagine.
The fluttering by personal experience could be skipped heartbeats or purely the adrenaline acting on nerve endings that causes those sensations.
something that is true but I also struggle to accept...
Symptoms of anxiety are uncomfortable but harmless... yet because we are so hyper-sensitive to these issues every symptom causes more anxiety... more adrenaline and guess what more symptoms... it is a vicious cycle and one that I can say is very hard to break.

Hi Professionalhypochondriac,

Hope you are well! Nice but also sad there are people out there that relate. Feel gutted for both of us. I think we can break the cycle, but it just takes time and persistence.

On a side note, I've just realised I have been taking too much Sertraline a day (250mg / daily max dose is 200mg) so that has set me off...

Hope you are having a great day

Dave

Hi Newstartformetoday,

I'm so glad to hear you are getting a better handle on your anxiety and the OCD thoughts! I am trying my best to leave the googling alone, it's hard but I am trying!

Hope you are having a great day

Yes like you say it’s about breaking the cycle but it’s the hardest thing to do...
No matter how much we reassure each other we need to be able to reassure and believe it ourselves
