Hi everyone, I joined this forum in the hope to be able to discuss about my issues and maybe talk to people who have gone through the same problem as me.
I am a trilingual senior student living in Miami
I have a pretty good life (at least on the outside), but I can't find a way to be happy
I think have been experiencing anxiety (some social anxiety) depression and some sort of depersonalization for some time
I tried practicing meditation to help my relieve my cycle of negative thoughts, but I haven't been able to make it into routine
I am scared of the future and my place it it, but hopefully I can somehow find a state of peacefulness and find motivation to do great things in life.

Yea I wrote a post describing what Im experiencing, but the answer Im really looking for is if its really possible to change your perspective of things, and that a strict change of habits would actually help me ease my mind

Hey there and welcome. From what I see you’ve already answered your own question. You said that”you’re scared of the future and your place in it”. Well that’s exactly what anxiety is, fear of the unknown and you being a young person about to graduate living in a big city your anxiety is kind of expected. You seem to have a lot of great things going for you which gives you the tools to have great things to offer in this world. Maybe try focusing on the things you can do instead of the things you can’t. You can try making short term goals and hopefully as you complete them you’ll find the “negative you” slowly disappear and a much more stronger, positive you take its place. Now as for the depersonalization that may go away with the negative thoughts or it may take a little extra help I.e, therapy so forth and so on. Take it day by day and know “you” are very special and deserve to be happy. 🤗

My worldview has changed immensely since I was 18. I’m 24 now. It’s a transitional stage of life you’re in. In fact it’s really awesome that you’re aware of that and you’re seeking understanding. Idk what my place in life is either right now. I’m considering adopting a cat so I can give all my love to it and feel special through its eyes haha.
