Default Growing number of care homes using personalised playlists to reduce use of anti-psychotic drugs

Written by Sue Learner May 26

A growing number of care homes are creating personalized music playlists after research showed people with dementia who listened to music tailored to their tastes and memories, needed less anti-anxiety and anti-psychotic medication.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

A very good, idea, I have come upon this via my centre organisation of care and community, care in particular for dementia, purposes, I would have loved to have volunteered for this role, of assisting to create playlists, however, I do have my communication difficulities, and they are very much elderly market older. So there is that problem of communicating along side of much older people.

Yes, one of my personal fears is being forced to live in a residential home where you have to gather in some bland communal room to sing bland songs from before your own past when all you really want to do is listen to Rammstein and Prodigy
