Well I got one today and after looking up on google it was 08000 etc I am going to have to take the plunge next week and speak to them, this form is freaking me out by the time I get it. There is no way am I giving atos my phone number, they can deal with me by letter. I'm stretching this out as much as i can and they proberbly think I'm on holiday.
I'm freaking out at this form filling, I suffer with bad nerves and not sure if that's a physical issue or not![]()
Nigel. You can have someone talk to you on the phone from the benefits people if you are too overwhelmed to fill out the form. It is nerve wracking but not as difficult as filling out the form yourself when you are really struggling. They ask easier questions, then fill it in themselves then send it to you so you can see if you agree with what they have put. You can then send it back with your amendments or none at all, if you are happy with it. I had this done once and was a lot easier. They will tell you what day and time they will phone.
If you can't do this, I don't know if you have a support worker or a cpn that can help you fill it in. If you can't you can get a mental health advocate, look online for one locally. Also the citizen's advice bureau may help.
I know how stressful this can be. Hope you ok.

hi nigel, I would very much recommend getting help with the form if you can rather than just filling it in yourself ( either alone or over the phone with the jobcentre plus benefit line) The better job you do of getting all the appropriate info on the form the less likely you are to be called for a medical.I would try your local CAB or possibly a local mental health charity/local disability charity. It`s also worth getting in touch with your local council to see if they have any welfare rights advisers who would be able to help you. As for the call from the jobcentre plus to explain the process don`t worry if you`re not able to answer the phone as all they are phoning for is to explain that you are being reassessed fro esa nad that you will get the form and might have to go for a medical .I wasmoved to esa from IB last year and i didnt pick up the phone to them and the process just went on regardless and i am now on esa. From what i have heard from those who did pick up the phone the call was a waste of time as the nfo given was read from a script and the person on the phone was unable/unwilling to answer any questions the claimant had anyway ( in other words about as good as a chocolate fireguard!!!!) hope all goes well for you, best wishes ,vicki
My main issues is high anxiety, I won't go out on my own on a night unless I'm with a group of friends, depression, suicidal thoughts sometimes if I get low enough, with Ibs I'm constantly feeling sick and have bowel problems and can get caught out if I don't find a toilet in time, some bad panic attacks that I can get if I don't feel safe or something upsets me or someone.
Physically I don't get any points on as I can use a pen, mouse etc. the drugs I take for my depression are at the highest dose to stop me thinking or trying suicide or going off on one to keep me calm, I have bad nerves that most of my life has been.
So it's mental state that I feel most down on and very teary sometimes, was last night thinking how I'll cope with all this. Don't know if I'll score enough points to pass this or not![]()
not a good day today![]()
