      Default Sex addiction

Does anyone out there with Bipolar experience sex addiction? I have had a crazy amount of sexual experiences and partners in my life (and I wish I didn't) and it has affected me to this day. I also have a problem with pornography. Since I accepted Jesus Christ seven years ago, I have managed to stay pretty much far away from porn, but just six months ago I went back with devastating results. After getting back into the porn for a few days I had the worst series of psychoses in my whole life. Needless to say I am once again staying away from pornography.
This is an important issue to me and it seems like no-one is talking about it. I need to talk to someone. Please, if you have any insight reply to this post.

I don't have sex addiction. However up until I was with my ex (my sons dad) in 1998 I had a large number of sexual partners, well i dont really know what is normal, but my friends at the time had between 5 and 10, so i guess i was pretty wild. I don't know if this was connected to the bipolar or just that I am that way inclined.

I have settled down since having my son, and am now married although i did have an experience in Febraury whihc i am not v proud of and im trying to forget (as is my partner).

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a lot of sex, as long as you are safe, and not hurting anyone, and porn, I think it has it's place too.

I think you can be a good person, have sex and look at porn No?

To live a Christian life earnestly, porn would have no place in it, so I understand your dilemna.
Lust however does not magically disappear.
You might perhaps immerse yourself in spiritual literature? perhaps the dessert fathers? and prayer?

i have no problem with porn, i mean i'm a guy, i look at it occasionally, something to have the odd, gentlemens relaxation over, but i aint fixated with it, maybe once or twice a month, i dunno, most of its a bit boring.
i guess im like most people, take it or leave it. sounds like you got an issue with it, perhaps you gotta change the way you think about it. porn is pretty emotionless, empty and one sided, perhaps you are not getting affection or recognition in another part of your life, i dunno, maybe yer like an addictive person.

there's a whole ton of more interesting stuff to do that is much better than looking at porn. books, films, cars, bikes, people, and ladies, and ladies emotions, an the best thing about real ladies, treat em nice, they treat you nice back. stay way from the sex thing and get to know ladies as people. people are wonderful, cos people can change.

i dunno, i aint much of a role model, but good luck bad boy, don't be worrying too much about straying off the path none, there's always hope for the future.

Nothing wrong with porn, but I understand it conflicts with you religion.

I used to be very promiscuous, nothing im proud of and do partly blame the mania.

Its difficult isn't it as you're feeling basic human desires, sex is natural, but it would be ideal if you could find a loving partner to do it with.

Do you have anyone in your life? Can you look into dating to meet someone?

Hope you have the restraint and strength to keep away from the porn

porn has got me into so much trouble over the years, I'd sooner have a tommy tank than do sex, I can't hadle the closeness at times and porn has "filled" that gap and not in a good way.

sex, sexuality and relationships have ruined my life....

What sort of Porn you been watching anyway? I been quite entertained by the CFNM ladies hen nights, where the ladies just get rat arsed and start n*shing off the strippers. ha ! It's bloody funny , cos I bet the next day their reading the Daily Mail, telling their poor husband off for using all the bread.

      quality.

      .
its not being naive at all Funky, its about me and my relationship with porn and how it affects me. sadly I prefer women on paper to real women, I prefer the loveless side of porn, makes it easier for me. I guess it comes from being a later starter in life and the only form of sex I had was with porn, I never used a prostitute so untill my early twenties it was only porn, no internet then, thank god I would have worn the old chap out...

I saw a TV prog ages ago that now says the average age to view porn is 13, thats scary. I was about 17 when I saw hardcore porn for the first time. And even now that has an infect on me some 30 years later. Instead of explroing for myself, I had a copy of "readers wife" for bed time reading........ not the best way forwards.

      13?! Wow that is scary

I guess I see where you're coming from with the loveless, paper side of porn, but I prefer to be with someone and have the porn for an addition!!

I'm sorry you've had your problems sweetie, do you think you'll ever be able to overcome them and have a relationship?
