      Default Access to Nursing Interview.

I have an interview on Monday.

I know I will get a test on English and Maths. Which is worring in itself he he

I thought I should think of a few questions they might ask me.

      1. What is a nurse's role?
      2. Which branch of nursing and why? (Still not sure on adult on MH)
3.What qualities must a good nurse possess.
      4. My strenghths and weaknessess.

I can pretty much answer all these except my weaknessess. Not because I don't have any as god know I do, but because I don't want to paint myself in a bad light. I had thought about saying that my maths wasn't my stongest subject but that I am working towards a course online, (bitesize maths lol)

Also should I gointo detail about my bipolar at this point? I don't want to lie as I would like to receive additional support eg someone to talk too if im stuggling emotionally. But I don't want to jepordise a place onthe course. x

Any advice would be much appreciated. x

      Default your weakness

I dont know which uni you are going to but our local uni interviews over a day and you are not alone. They show films, images etc and ask for opinions. By the end of the day they pretty much know you. If you have to give a weakness make it strength...'I tend to work too hard' etc...be yourself, that way you can't fail to impress. I dont envy you. Its over 20years since I did mine.

      Hiya

I work in a college where we offer Access courses. They'll be keen to make sure that you know what to expect during the course as it's demanding but really rewarding. On our courses, we have students with a range of needs, everything from mental health to dyslexia, from significant caring responsibilities to very sketchy education background. My advice is to be upfront so that you will get the support if needed, assignment extensions, etc. Most colleges have good student support departments.

But remember that you're interviewing them too! See what you think of them

Do PM me if I can help at all but you'll be fine. Be yourself hun and let us know how you get on

      Sarah Xx
