      Default What to do when you feel you are about to blow your top!

      hey does anyone have any hints or tips on what to do if you feel like you are away to blow your top and scare and upset people?

      Have you heard of mindfulness?
      its sort of a way of meditation, bringing yourself back down into the 'real' world again.
      i did it today while waiting to see the dentist!
      close your eyes, focus on your breathing, deep breaths. listen for something like birds or something soothing that you can focus on while your breathing.
      it takes practice to master, i havent got the full hang of it.
      but worth a try.

      i have ptsd from time in the army and it can just be the littlest thing x

      have you seen anyone about it?
      a doctor or counseller?

      yea i am seeing both and on pills life just a bit upside down at the moment but life has its ups and downs just got to get threw them.

      Well done for thinkng with a positive attitude!
      Has your counsellor given you any tips for when you are feeling on edge?

      Its hard because you cant suddenly stop feeling the way you are, it takes time.
      it takes a combination of meds, support and hard work yet some days its too hard!
      definately ask your counseller about mindful ness see if they can help you practice that better than i explained it!

      no not really i aint been going for a while. I stopped as i didnt feel it was helping! but things were getting worse so had to make another appointment i just want to be fixed will take time tho.
