“2012: Time for Change” presents an optimistic alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee Joćo Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 heralds the birth of a regenerative planetary culture where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink.

Around the turn of the century, all the New Agers, myself included, talked about the end of the world. The Mayan calendar, the Age of Maat. Pleidians, Indigos, Crystal children, were all here to help Lightworkers Ascend. War would come with famine and earthquakes, fires and floods. Asteroids would hit. Two thirds of the World's population would die. The Antichrist would make himself known and those that were left would be polarised. The good to the New Earth, the bad to the poisoned fires of Sheoul.

I had visions of lions running with hinds and hares. Animals and people leaping over ruins and fleeing through blackened forests. I saw the grey lizard men with empty dead black eyes and their horned masters with glowing red eyes and the pale bodies lying face down in pools of dark and oily Ichor. When I dowsed, I was told that it would happen in 2016 but everyone else said 2012, December 21st.

Now as that date approches everyone is back-pedalling like mad. It's not the End of the actual World. It's metaphorical. Now they talk about DNA changes with diagnostic criteria as specific as any generalisation outlined in DSM V. It's all about change, Transformation. A New Dawn. An awakening of consciousness. The end of Fear.

I don't see it now. I'd like it to end but I don't think we've suffered enough yet. There is yet gold in them thar hills. And more and more children to send after it to labour down those mines. I think we'll choke on the dust and smog eventually. The Golden Towers will rise along with razor wire fences and many will starve and drown. And Eliot will be proved a prophet - no bang just lots of whimpers. Soon enough but not yet.

Thank you for the reply P1ckle. I enjoyed watching the '2012 Time for Change' Film; & have been enjoying listening to & reading some of Stanislav Grof's material -

I'm prone to negativity & things can look bleak sometimes. But there are things to feel positive about; & I've been trying as much as I can to be more optimistic about things.

It does seem that things cannot go on as they are for much longer. But one of the most depressing things about growing older is the gradual erosion of hope for the individual and globally.
