      Hi misssarah,

Sometimes GP have phone consultation sessions, where you book an appointment and they will ring you. You may be able to get an appointment like this prior to the 5th January, just an idea.

Chin up chuck, I hope you get through this.....

      take care now,

I have issues with my GP too. My favourite GP who first diagnosed me because She spotted something was wrong when i went just to arrange routine bloods. She was fantastic with MH stuff. She was lovely and wonderful but moved interstate in January. I had another female gp who didn't understand MH as well but was still lovely. She moved away in September.

My current GP is the first male on I've had since I was 12. I am uncomfortable with him. I can't really talk to him and despite starting but not finishing training to be a pdoc he sucks at MH stuff. But he is easy to get in to see, I have an appointment tomorrow I'm thinking of canceling.

      It is frustrating.
My medical centre let's people see any GP if theirs is not available. So we are able to try different GPs. Some people see someone different each time and dont have a regular GP. Sometimes I have to try all 8 GPs until I find one who is available if I am booking at late notice!

Are you able to see a different GP just to tide you over until your GP is available again?

Ah I see. Sorry I didn't realise you had tried that. I hope I didn't offend you. You can vent here if you think it will help to talk things through with us.

      hi
just a thought, I've had trouble getting to talk to my own gp, so in the end the receptionist made an appt with another gp, at that appt I said i needed to speak to my own gp, this other dr then made an appt there and then for me to see my own gp. Ive done this over the phone as well, had to speak to duty dr who then put me on list for my own gp to ring later that day. good luck x
