Hey Apo

I read a little and it reminds me of Enochian magic as practised by Dr Dee in the 16th century to 17th. it is the hieros gamos, or sacred marriage. I only object to this form in that the feminine is seen as totally passive to the masculine activity. That was the theory of its times, with the female being called a garden to be tilled by the man. I don't object just because its insulting, but its inaccurate in nature.

However, metaphysics has interested me all my adult life and when I am not falling asleep, as I am not, I will read it in more detail

I like the book, and author's opinions...
But the whole story is very difficult to understand (at least for me), and I wouldn't agree with all explanations provided in the book...
I always used to respect only my conclusions and point of views, but anyway, this was refreshing to read. I suggest everyone to read this, it is very interesting, and full of good informations...

Thanks Apollon - I don't agree with everything that is written in this book - but there is a lot of good stuff too.

@ Claypso - Not sure I follow you? The book is about the subtle energy fields of the body & how to activate them in healthy ways - I would have thought it applies to either sex equally?

I have skimmed the text, I will read it and give you a more comprehensive response by email.

As with all new age endeavors, this book seems to be a blending of different concepts from eastern religion. The problem with New Age is that is in highly interpretive, meaning that it is usally a collection of concepts that are homogenized in a wholistic way. Many of the proponenets of the source religions or philosophies from which these concepts are taken from oppose this treatment of their beliefs. They say unless taken in view with the entire religion of the concepts origin, the truth is lost or diluted, and things are taken out of context.

My view is that on has to do the hard work of the interpreter and not rely on someone else's interpretation. To understand chakras, you have to study hinduism and actually read the vedic scripture and text, etc. I think that homogenizing is kind a human endevor and religions are derived from early teachings or philosophies. Everything evolves.

Belief is something else all together. An important concept in the establishment of faith that is not blind faith is evidence. It is fine and dandy to say that this is such and such, but evidence (or proof) of ones claims make the diference between pure speculation and fact.

I will read it because I am interested, I am going into it with a critical but open mind as I do with anything.

Through drug use I have experienced what I guess was ego death. That is evidence enough for me that there are states of being that are infinite in their depth. Sorry Like all other people who have experienced it I am at a loss for words to describe it. the Buddhist word Tao or way i guess is as good as it gets.
