      Default driving lessons

am i allowed to apply for my provisional and take driving lessons even though i regularly have panic attacks and take quite a lot of prescribed drugs (anti d's, propanalol, sleeping pills at night obv, diabetes meds, meds for stomach problems). i dont want to spend all that money applying if they will turn me down. anyone know?

I'm really glad that you seeked advise before spending any money.

I applied for my provisonal license and in the application form, they ask for your medical history. They ask questions based on whether you have a mh issue and medication. Because with taking medication, it can affect your eye sight, your brain, balance and hearing.

You can always go to your local post office, pick up a form and the information you need will be in with it.

      Take care.

You would have to declare the diabetes anyway.

I wondered the same thing, What I was told by the professional's I see was: with medication as long as you have been on them for at least a good enough time to know how it effects you and has no major effect on your ability's it should be ok to apply. I would ask your GP, any therapist/psych team you see also their opinions may vary so best to ask about. I just applied despite mental health.

Got the license provisional for 3 yrs then when i reapplied for life

      I've got a moped

Whether i'd pass a driving test on these drugs, i completed a cbt 3 times now

Maybe the issue with me is confidence don't know

I just wanted to refresh this thread to encourage other members to get out there and get there Driving Licences and boost their employment Prospects by doing so.

It took me 60 Lessons to get mine which I got on My Fourth attempt.o

After that I got my Advanced Driving Licence after one Test.

The Best thing I've done in years together with getting My IT Skills and Qualifications.

It currently costs about £25 for a Manual Driving Lesson.

      Good idea, Nic!

I'm planning on starting driving lessons soon and have asked hubby to pay towards some for my birthday present this month (I'll be 40). I've put it off for far too long (been a bit of a scarey cat about it) but am looking foward to a new challenge and the freedom it will bring me once I pass.

Oh, and as your name suggests, I am going to give up smoking soon too!
