      Default Hmmmm.

BPD - family history of Aspergers. Sensory Hypersensitivity. IQ 138 (when I'm drunk and very tired late at night)... well - what the hell do you expect? lol. :P

I started meditating when I was 10 with a personal Yoga teacher, moved on to Zazen, and then ended up perusing western magickal schools. I'm 40 shortly.

I'm NOT promiscuous - celibate rather... (although I see nothing wrong with that if you have safe sex). I'm just looking for someone to properly trust.

I've been very active in politics in the past, but now I'm washed up and pissed off.

      Hi. *rolls eyes*

When I was first diagnosed - I couldn't believe it. I looked it up on the net and thought: this doctor is wack! lol. 2 Years later.... and I can sort of see what he means.

What do you think of the film written by a woman with BPD about it - 'Girl, Interrupted'? :-)

I hven't seen that film in a while, but I feel it has become a kind of stereotype for the BPD experience... For me, the experience is not like that. I have a close friend with BPD and she really relates to the film. For each of us the reality of BPD is different, and our journeys are so unique... I met some other people with BPD at a personality disorder unit and we were all SO different, and suffered so differently.

What do you think of the film? What is the reality like for you?

      I'm ambiguous. ;-)

That's a smart aleck reply though. I really just don't know anymore. Thats an enormous question...!

I had to find out Girl....was about BPD it is so far from my own experience.......the only bit I related too was when she said 'every time I try to smile it feels like I am going to die', or whatever the line was.

I can tick every line of the DSM description, with knobs on!!!!
“The value of compassion cannot be over-emphasized. Anyone can criticize. It takes a true believer to be compassionate. No greater burden can be borne by an individual than to know no one cares or understands.”

"Don't walk ahead of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and be my friend". A Camus.

      Hi Maxitab,

I too can tick all the boxes and yet all my problems have been put down to alcohol problems over the years.
It enrages me when I was actively involved with Borderline UK for nearly 6 yrs and yet my GPs were still convinced that everything would right itself without the alcohol! The only thing they got right was GAD and that was only because it stood out like a sore thumb when I stopped drinking.
I had self medicated for 20 odd years and had to give up my career when I stopped drinking because I couldn't cope with the responsibility sober!
