Default Welcome to the new forum!

      Hello everyone in Merseyside,

I asked them to set this site up and am hoping other people in Merseyside will post here and support eachother.

I live in Merseyside and would love to see if we can set up regular group sessions to get togetherand share any good treatment or support networks in the area. The Depression Alliance are meeting next on Tuesday 31st August 7.00pm-9.00pm at St. Andrews church hall, Clubmoor.

Has anyone worked with Inclusion Matters in Liverpool? I have a referral to them in progress and want to know what to expect.

Hi, just wondering if anyone else has noticed just how crap mental health services are in merseyside? I have repeatedly been told by my GP and the Hesketh centre that due to lack of funds they can't give me any help and I've got to try and make do with trial and error meds and 4 sessions of counselling every 6 months. I saw a clinical psychologist about a week ago and he basically said that although he agrees I would benefit from long term care and a weekly basis, there just aren't the resources so there's nothing they can do.

Sorry, just really annoyed right now.
That's a very nice everything you have there.......Tsssssssssssss

You have a right to be annoyed. I wonder, if it were someone needing treatment and care for a heart condition and they were told this, would there not be an uproar. This is unacceptable and you do not have to accept it. Contact Mind central and find out where your nearest advocacy worker is and have them support you to get a better service. Contact your local PALS office and make a formal complaint.

NO ONE with a physical condition would put up with this......we don't have to either.....

I'm from Merseyside too, and have been waiting for 3 months since my phone assessment with Inclusion Matters... It isn't county wide though, in St Helen's the mental health response is much quicker. Apparently inclusion matters is still the operator there, but that section of it is much quicker to respond.

Since my telephone assessment I tried to kill myself, and had the support of the crisis team for a short period, but now that the 'crisis' is over, I've been left to wait for IM with no support at all, aside for a sick note from my GP.

I agree with maxitab, the mental health care provided in Merseyside is sub-standard, and this needs raising with someone who can do something about it.....

for example, I was rushed to A&E by the crisis team, and was left alone in a room for 3 hours before anybody came to see me... when you are feeling suicidal 3 hours is such a long time, in fact when my mum got to the hospital i was putting on my shoes to leave as I had enough....

This service is aimed at helping you at a time when you REALLY need to feel like somebody's there for you..... This couldn't seem further from the truth...

Hi all, I'm new on the site and from Merseyside too.
Can't say I've used the inclusion matters, but the crisis team in my area were pretty fast, no complaints about them.

@athertlo2 I hope your feeling better

      take care all
