Hi all ... I had a question about prioirty for council banding and mental health. My wife suffers severe anxiety, depression and panic attacks. She is on anti depressants and anti psychotic medicine and under the care of a local mental health team and GP.

She sufferred depression, since our child was born and died after 30 mins. We moved into private rented accomadation but her condition has increased exponentially since we moved as it was infested with bed bugs. Treating them caused amazing distress and has traumatised her greatly. We initially threw away all furniture bedding curtains bedding and alot of our possessions (extreme because she was OCD clean). Everything else for the last 13 months has been taped up in plastic boxes. Nothing is kept outside in the fear of bed bugs and she constantly hallucinates about them and daily checks all surfaces to make sure they are not hiding somewhere.

I updated the council to a change of circumstances and explained the adverse affect the house is having on her mental and physical health. They disregarded it and kept us in band D which means we get no priorty. The GP and the psychatrist confirm that her medication, which has increased over the time we been in this house, will never work and she will never be cured until she moves out of this house due to the fear of bed bugs. She has been awarded ESA and medium rate DLA for care.

I need to appeal by next week and wanted to know is there anything I am saying wrong? As per their own policy if u have a "medical condition made worse by current housing" we should be in band B. I am going to inculde all the medical reports. Any relevant advice would be much appreciated.

My last girlfriend was talking about moving out of her flat to a mind house, i said for mind to get the hostel money it has to meet the definition of a hostel which is shared kitchen bathroom and toilet, i know haringey mind had baby bellings in the rooms, also i'm not sure if you can lock your door

I'm not sure about mind houses nowadays since the days i applied they may have changed. last time i applied they wanted the minutes of your last cpa meeting a occupational therapists report and a risk assessment, i thought only people coming out of broadmoor or rampton would have that documentation, also at my mind support group they said there are some very violent people in mind houses, as i said to my grlfriend people would call your present neighbours violent anyway

Then suppport is a 2 edged sword, when i had a support worker every time i showed emotion they'd say "When do you next see the Dr" sometimes i'd end up acccompanying them to the gp to get them off my back, he never did anything
